20/09/13 Wood pool

A nice few hours on wood pool this morning,arrived at 7.45 a little warmer of late (15)
Fished just before the right hand bend 2nd peg up,as with most of the water on Chester Lakes the level was very low.
Fished red/white maggot.
Mixed bag of Skimmers,Perch,Roach and Rudd.
Fished till 1.15.

Chester Lakes 04/09/13

Same peg as the last visit,
Fished the tip again but nothing but small tench and one small carp.
Cool and misty at first light.
Packed in at 12 again,nice and warm by then.

Chester Lakes 2/9/13

Pool 3 Left hand corner peg by pods,
Not much to report,about 6 tench arounf 12 oz to a lb and one carp 3.10lb.
Nothing to shout about but not a bad few hours.

Lymm Vale 30/8/13

Well started off and arrived at 6.30.
Same left hand corner peg as last time.
Fished all baits on the tip with just 2/3 knocks and that was it.
Packed in at 12,with another bad day at Vale.
The place is so peaceful being there is just enough.
Back to the drawing board for the place and a different peg.

Chester Lakes 27/8/13

Up at the birds and all gear ready just the decision as to what venue.
As I had not fished Chester Lakes over the bank holiday weekend I decided a loaf of bread was on order and off I went.
Nice thing with C/L it is on my doorstep,10 Min's and I am there.
Got there just after first light (6.15) and decided to fish on pool 3.
This pool to me has a far better stamp of carp and tench the the other 2 pools.
Only 3 young land and 2 other guys fishing so picked the left hand corner peg by the pods.
Tip and pellet feeder with bread flake on a short hair was the order of the day.
First carp in the net in 10 mins.
Well i had a cracking few hours and caught around 12/15 fish,with a few lost and missed it was decided to pack in at midday.
No monsters just a nice few fish that makes getting up  5 am worth the effort.

Lymm Vale 23/08/13

After seeing all the tents on Chester lakes i decided to give Lymm Vale another bash.
Arriving at around 7.15 with only 2 cars there I headed for the left

hand car park swim.
Rigged up to fish cage feeder with micro pellets and corn on the hair,after one hour with not a nibble I decided to try a little hemp,
No sooner was the hemp in the fine tench bubbles indicated a few on the feed.
As normal just as I picked my flask up the tip went round.
Nice and slow a beautiful tench came over the net,just over 2 lb.
Now I am aware that is not big for the Vale but it was a monster for me with the blank days I have had on there of late.
Missed a couple more and headed back home for lunchtime.
A very nice 4 hours on one of the most beautiful waters around.

Chester Lakes Pool 3.. 21/08/13

Fished from 7.30 till 12.00
Pod corner peg with back to the cafe.(save the temptation of the full breakfast).
Started off with feeder and bread for the hook.
5 mins and a nice 4/5lb common graced the mat,that was all for about 1.5 hours with only a few nibbles at the bait.
Changed to boilie rig and nothing.
Changed from hair rig to plain hook with bread flake,had 2 tench and lost 2 nice fish that felt like carp.
One more small carp and time for home.
Not a great day but with 2 other guys on not catching I put it down to a bad morning session.
Always next time........

Willow pool 15/08/13

Stu and I started off for Willow at 5.30,arrived at 6.00 with 2 cars on the car park.

Booked in and set up and started fishing around 6.50 left hand side and corner.

2 other guys fishing poles to the island to our right .

Both of us fished running rigs with Boilie as the bait.

Hot and sunny day that was forecast rain.

Stu had a nice 9 mirror,I had 3 carp 5lb,5.5lb and 6.5lb

Lost a couple and missed a few runs.

Clouds came over at 5.30 so called it a day.

All in all a cracking day,on a great venue.

Dodleston 09/08/13

Decided to fish Dodleston this morning.
Due to a few things had only a few hours to fish so started at 8.30.
Fished the first peg on the left and missed a couple of runs and lost one near the net.
Well rewarded with this new Dodleston P/B at 13.5lb
Left at 12.00 nice few hours.

Dodleston 7/08/13

Stu and I decided to give Dodleston Pool a go on Chester lakes.
Fished the 2nd peg on the right hand side.
Very hot and sunny with no fish for me and 2 small bream and a carp for Stu
Fished from 9.00 until 17.30

Dodleston 01.08.13

Dodleston 4pm untill 7pm
One Commom 8lb.

Lymm Vale 01.08.13

 7am till 10am.Very poor 1 perch and no other bites.
Never seem to have much luck there.

Dodleston Pool 29/07/13

Short session tonight 4pm until 7pm. First peg shop side,2 nice carp. 1 common @ 10lb and an 11.5 mirror. Missed a couple,but a nice few hours on a great pool. Happy days.

Nice and bright morning but cooled down to 14c first thing.

Fished first peg down with my bach to the cafe.
Fished 6 till 12 and had 3 nice fish

5lb,8.5 and 11.

Great few hours on the buzzer.

Chester Lakes pool 3 ..24/07/13

Back again 7.00 till 12.30 in the same peg as Sunday.
Light shower at 8.00 the hot and sunny.
Had a few Carp and Tench nothing to write home about in size.
Nice few hours though and no fry-up again.

Doddleston 22/07/13

Stu and I fished from 6 till 11.30.
2 missed runs for me and a nice 10lb Common for Stu.
Cloudy and warm.

Chester lakes pool 3 21/07/13

Started at 6am on the right hand corner peg.
Started slow but picked up,had a good bag of carp and tench.
Missed a few so all in all a good 5 hours fishing.
Overcast and cooler.

Lymm Vale 19/07/13

Chris and I had an earley start on Vale this morning,arriving at 4am only one double peg (walking distance) left.
Both shared the same peg and luck.
Hot and sunny and one small bite each,no fish.
Both packed in at midday.

Willow Pool 15/07/13

Fished the Old tree peg facing the island and the willow.

Had 4 nice fish 1 Tench and 3 Carp.

Steaming hot and sunny.

Cracking little place.

Woodside Monday 08/07/13

Nicefew early hours on Woodside again this morning.
Fished from 6.00 untill 12.30.
Nice sunny morning,.
Had about 15 fish with a nice 3.5 Tench .

Woodside 1/7/13

Fished from 7.15 Till 13.00.
Ist peg on the roadside.
Weather was a little cool to start with but warmed up later,light rain most of the morning.
About 6 crucians and 1 small carp and a nice roach.
Very pleasent few hours on a cracking pool.

Chester Lakes 26/06/13

Same peg,bait and method as last night,
Not a lot doing.
Fished 4-8pm

Chester Lakes 25/06/13

Fished pool 2 back to wood pool and dead centre per agaim.
5.30 tll 8.30pm nice 3 hours but not as good as last time out.
Same bait (M) on the tip 5 small carp and 2 small tench,
Did not even get a knock from anything decent.
Allways next time.

Chester Lakes 21/06/13

Fished back on middle lake at chester lakes,middle peg with back to wood pool.
Great 3 hours (5.30- 8.30) 2 more this size and a few smaller ones + plenty of better stamp tench.

Cheste Lakes 20/06/13

Fished the middle pool right hand corner peg with may back to wood pool.
Fished from 5pm nice bright night.
Caught loads of small tench and some very nice roach.
Used all baits but only one small carp.

Chester Lakes 17/06/13

Fished Dodleston Pool at Chester lakes with Stu,not a bright day but had just opened after being closed for spawning.
Fished the far peg on the right hand side.
One run after 5 mins then nothing for the pair of us.
Only one other guy on there called "Clive" he fished everything but had nothing,
We called it a day after we fished from 10am until 7pm,

Chester Lakes Jan 18 2013

Just a nice little visit to Chester Lakes this morning,lids on all pleasure pools and plenty of snow.
Can not wait for the weather to start warming up.

Shropshire union canal walk 15-01-13

Had a nice little walk today along the Shropshire union canal.
Started off at Tarvin Road bridge in Vicars Cross and finished up at cow lane bridge in Chester.
A cold but bright morning, but no anglers.

Lymm Sunday Match

Sunday 06/01/13
Well the new year started but still a little cold for me.
Went on sunday morning to Chester Lakes to have a look at Lymm Anglers match (please note no breakfast)
Lovely morning and wished I had entered,winner had 28lb and 2/3 were both in the 11lb bracket.
Still won't be long (I hope) till I start again.
